A top advisor to Joe Biden says it is time to move on from “challenges” in the unveiling of a new security partnership among the US, the UK and Australia, arguing there’s no point dwelling on causes of the rift with France.

Jake Sullivan, the US president’s national security adviser, also said on Thursday the Biden administration would engage in “stiff competition” with China but there was no reason that had to “turn into conflict or confrontation”.
